Oak Hill native Robert Buchanan, 64, was arrested following an investigation into a reported abduction of a 30-year-old woman who was taken on Thursday, June 27.
According to the Prince William County Police Department, officers were called to the Sleep Inn on Shoppers Best Way in Woodbridge shortly before 2:45 a.m. on Friday, June 28 to investigate the abduction.
Investigators say that Buchanan, described as an acquaintance of his victim, took the woman from Pennsylvania to the Virginia hotel.
During the harrowing encounter, police said that the woman was able to notify the police about Buchanan's location in Virginia, and both were found in the hotel room, where he was detained without incident.
Buchanan was also found to be in possession of the woman's personal belongings. No injuries were reported.
He was arrested and charged with abduction.
This isn't the Oak Hill native's first time facing charges, according to reports, having allegedly previously pointing a gun at a mother and child at an RV park.
